A beautiful and super wearable 1920s black printed silk crepe dress with handkerchief hem and fantastic details. The scene is printed, there are hand embroidered edges to clouds and tiny brush strokes of gold and silver hand painted onto the design. The silks used are probably from an antique shawl, soft silk crepe and silk charmeuse, the side panels are cut and sewn in the flow around the hips and move beautifully. ((They are herons, not cranes, apparently, but from Solange's great album, Cranes in the Sky popped into my head when I saw this dress:-))
Condition: Excellent, some very faint signs of age to the silk side panels, otherwise no flaws noted.
Measurements: (this is classic flapper up and down fit, and would orginally have been worn a bit loose) Bust: 36-38 inches / 91.4 - 96.5 cm Waist: 36 inches / 91.4 cm Hips: Free Overall length: 36 - 44 inches / 91.4 - 111.8 cm (at longest points)
(A note on measurements: All measurements are taken with the garment laid flat and are as exact as possible. Sometimes we may put in sleeve and or neck measurements as these can be very small on vintage garments. Please ensure that you check all dimensions carefully with your own body measurements before placing your order. To do this you could compare the measurements against something of your own that fits well :-)
